Trash to Treasure

"The greatest challenge in life is discovering who you are.
The second greatest is being happy with what you find."
-Oscar Auliq-Ice

Today's prompt for Junk Journal July was 'trash to treasure'.
I think I went very lightly inspired on this one...the most trashy thing on the page is a small piece of cardboard.  Honestly, it's not easy for a creative person to look at anything as trash, because if you try hard enough or look at it in the right light, it's hard to call anything trash.  Even the most trashy of trash has value in some way.

As artistic or creative people, there's a great joy in turning something other people would cast aside into something worthy of praise.

I think the quote today relates to that.
Because if you figure out who you are and discover you're not happy with it,
you have the grand opportunity to change if you choose.

It might not be easy.
It might take a lot of time and elbow grease.
But if you really want to, you absolutely can.

I think that we're all works of art and we all have the ability to keep adding and removing bits until we're happy with what we are.

I think that's what I'm trying to do.
I was happy with the shape and texture of myself for a time.
But I looked again and found my tastes had changed,
so it was time to roll up my sleeves and see what else I could do.
